I'm 34!

I'm thirty-four,
I've never done anything remarkable. 
Life has passed me by,
I've never seen a Broadway play,
Or met a real life movie star.
The closest I ever got to fame was when
I saw Clark Gable in the 4th of July Parade.
I'm 34!  My life is half over, 
I've never really lived!

Now just a minute girl!
Think! Remember!
A boy in Air Force blue who loved you,
Your Father's arms on your wedding day,
The indescribable joy, pain, tears,
Of firstborn child. 
The miracle of other lives
Your body helped create.
The faces of the young you taught
The truths of life. 

You read a book!
You saw a sunset!
You heard a song!
You had a friend!

You are only thirty-four,
