Kate
I remember well the night she came,
Fast, in a hurry--oh such pain!
From the start she ruled my life,
Erased the bitterness and strife
That struggled in my heart.
She loves people does my Kate,
I hope she never learns to hate
Or know the ugliness of sin.
I wish I could shelter her forever,
No, that wouldn't help us either one.
She must go and learn as I have done.
Oh Kate, my Kate, she's only four,
But soon, too soon, she'll be much more.
