Travels By Mind
Didn't you know?
I've been to New York, Paris, Rome?
No! I never even left my home.
I've walked the beat with L.A. cops,
I even saw a bullfight once.
For a year I loved with kings,
Oh, I have done some wondrous things.
I've eaten snails in Somiland,
Ridden camels in Samarkand.
I slept by day on desert sand,
Rode by wagon to a new wild land.
I haven't missed a country or a war,
You may not think this true,'
I've even visited a galaxy or two.
I climbed mountains on the Isle of Skye,
Sailed the seas with Captain Bligh.
I walked the roads where greatness walked,
Went to Gettysburg when Lincoln talked.
Sorry, there is very little I didn't see or do.
If you had time I could tell you too.
Oh you really haven't got the time?
Oh, dear my friend,
You've got that look.
I don't believe you ever read a book.
