When I Start to Write

When I start to write I cannot stop,

I'm tired but I cannot sleep.

I see Colorado mountains topped with snow,

Arizona deserts that are part of me,

The only ocean I've ever seen. 

Names and faces of people

Whom I've known and cared about. 

I want to write about them all. 

I long to find the words.

​I hope there is time enough to say it all.
